I have a friend who doesn't laugh anymore.
It's been years, but I knew her when she laughed. Back then we were really young and our conversations and laughter flowed freely.
She stopped laughing when she fell in love with this one man. Loving him is so serious, and so full of fear. I think she is afraid of losing this one thing that makes her smile all the time.
But smiling isn't laughing.
I am terrified for her.
